A lot of your learning in college will take place outside of a typical classroom setting. In fact, students are commonly advised to spend two or three hours studying for every hour they spend in the classroom. A lot of these hours will be spent on homework assignments, essays, and studying, but there are a few other ways that you can further deepen your understanding of a topic.
These strategies will help you gain deep learning—in other words, you’ll be able to gain knowledge you can retain and apply, rather than simply learning a fact just to forget it as soon as your test is complete.
In this section, we’ll talk about ways you can enhance your learning: talking to your professors, deepening your learning, being honest, and examining your own past performances.
