Neurocognitive disorders are described as those with “a significant impairment of cognition or memory that represents a marked deterioration from a previous level of function.” The subsections of neurocognitive disorders include delirium and mild and major neurocognitive disorder, which have multiple types and causes that we’ll begin to examine in this section, including the well-known diseases of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
