Schizophrenia is often a misunderstood psychological disorder. There are a lot of myths and misrepresentations about people with schizophrenia in films, media, and society in general.
STEP 1: Your task is to create a brochure with another classmate about the myths and facts about schizophrenia to help educate the public. The brochure must be at least 2 pages and be visually appealing and organized. You can use any type of program you’d like, such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LucidPress, Flipsnack, or Canva.
If images are used, they must be openly licensed. You can search for openly licensed images on the Creative Commons website or on Google’s advanced search option. You can also watch a short video on finding open educational resources (OER) using Google’s advanced search option.
STEP 2: There should be at least 3 areas of content in your educational brochure. Two of the areas must be myths and facts and the third area could be something else of your choosing such as statistics, treatment, how to help someone with schizophrenia, etc. Each content area should have between 3 to 5 bullet points (i.e. 3-5 myths, 3-5 facts, etc.). Sources for your information must be listed in APA format on the last page or column of your brochure. Have fun and be creative!
STEP 3: Share your brochure with others inside of the discussion forum.
