The transition to college is often difficult, and about one-third of first-year students fail to enroll for their second year.\r\n\r\nIf you are concerned about your drug or alcohol use, or you need help quitting, visit the student health center or talk with your college counselor. These folks\u00a0are there to help you\u2014it's their job to provide information and\u00a0support.\r\n\r\nThere are agencies you can turn to for additional resources such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samhsa.gov\/find-help\/national-helpline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SAMHSA\u2019s National Helpline<\/a> <a id=\"anch_1279\" href=\"tel:1-800-662-4357\">1-800-662-HELP (4357)<\/a>, (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) or TTY: <a id=\"anch_1280\" href=\"tel:1-800-487-4889\">1-800-487-4889<\/a> is a free, confidential, 24\/7, 365-day-a-year treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and\/or substance use disorders.\r\n\r\nAdditional resources from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.gov\/mental-health-substance-abuse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA.gov can be found here<\/a> for mental health and substance use disorders (SUD)\u2014everything from reviewing signs and effects of substances to finding treatment programs for SUD, veterans, and local help centers for alcohol and drug addiction (i.e., support groups).
