It cannot be emphasized enough how important your audience is; they are the reason for your presentation. To make an impact and get your audience’s attention, you have to know who they are. Do your research first because your audience analysis will help you form your speech. This analysis is your starting point for creating a great speech.
In this module, we’ve discussed the most important factors to consider in your audience analysis:
- Expectations of the event: Why are they here?
- Prior experience with the topic: What do they know already?
- Attitude toward the topic: Where do they stand?
- Frame of reference: Where are they coming from?
