Introduction to ¿Prefieres patinar o esquiar?

Continuing our journey through the stem-vowel changes, we’re going to work on verbs that change from e-ie. This particular stem-vowel change might look familiar, since we just learned one of the verbs: querer. For example, Ella quiere un helado (She wants an ice cream). Incidentally, verbs with a stem-vowel change are sometimes called “verbos de bota” because in the conjugation chart, the stem-vowel change fits into a boot shape (all the forms except nosotros and vosotros).
