In other words, you will learn how describe things that are happening right now or in the near future. When you use two verbs to describe what you are doing such as \u201cI am walking\" or \u201cI am dancing,\u201d this is an example of a compound verb. Another example may be \u201cshe is learning\u201d or \"we are working\" is called a compound verb tense because there are two verbs needed.\r\n\r\nWe will be conjugating the verb\u00a0<em>estar<\/em> and using it with the gerund (words that have <em>-ing<\/em> at the end) to create the present progressive verb tense.\u00a0 Check out the following examples in Spanish:\r\n\r\nYo estoy caminando. <em>I am walking<\/em>.\r\n\r\nT\u00fa est\u00e1s bailando. <em>You are dancing.<\/em>\r\n\r\nEllos est\u00e1n comiendo. <em>They are eating.<\/em>\r\n\r\nNosotros estamos trabajando. <em>We are working.<\/em>\r\n\r\n\u00c9l est\u00e1 bebiendo. <em>He is drinking.<\/em>\r\n\r\nCan you see the two parts of the compound verb phrase in both the Spanish and English sentences?\u00a0 Do you see a pattern with the gerund (-ing ending) and how it is formed in Spanish?\u00a0 You will!
