In this section, you’ll learn to be a careful consumer of online information. By using the SIFT method, you will learn some helpful tricks to determine whether claims, both modern and historical, are really true. While information literacy may not be something that comes to mind when you think about history classes, it’s an essential skill for historians to be able to think critically and carefully about information, both past and present. In this section, you’ll learn to think more deeply about sources and how to determine their reliability.
