Pacing

The Calculus II textbook contains seven modules — roughly two to two and a half weeks per module for a sixteen-week semester.

If your institution covers integration in Calculus I, or briefly introduces integration during Calculus I:

  • Module 1: Integration and Module 2: Applications of Integration can be skipped, or taught for only a few sections

If you need to modify the pace and cover the material more quickly:

  • Module 4: Differential Equations can be lightened by focusing only on the sections you find most critical.

If your institution does not cover parametric equations in Calculus II, or only briefly introduces parametric equations during Calculus II:

  • Module 7: Parametric Equations and Polar Coordinates can be skipped, or taught for only a few sections – this module is also covered at the beginning of Lumen’s Calculus III course.
