In this writing workshop, we took a closer look at some writing assignments you will likely face during your college career. It’s essential to always first understand what your task is and what the assignment prompt is asking of you. You probably wouldn’t begin a road trip by jumping in the car and driving away. First, you’d want to pack your bags and check out where you’re going. The same applies to all of your writing assignments—it’s a good idea to understand the prompt and make a plan so that you end up in the right place, or with the assignment you want. Remember to use the prompt to help you get started and then apply some of the brainstorming approaches we did together in this module—making lists, filling in the blanks, or creating mindmaps.
