A new disease outbreak happens every day. As a disease detective, it is one’s job to investigate, evaluate, and extinguish public health threats. This chapter identifies those who are disease detectives and their responsibilities. Due to the unpredictable nature of outbreaks, it is essential for these public health professionals to know the proper procedures needed to handle these circumstances. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided the perfect, interactive game that allows the user to asses and solve outbreaks. By doing so, the user gains crucial knowledge into outbreaks as a whole and how they relate to actual epidemiological practices.
