Footnote

To enter a footnote, place your cursor in the text where you would like the footnote to appear. Then click on the Footnote button (FN).

Enter the text of the footnote into dialogue box that pops up.

Once you click “OK” the footnote will appear in the text as a shortcode, surrounded by brackets. Be sure to not delete any brackets or the backslash or the footnote won’t function properly. You can format the text using the formatting bar as you would other text to add italics or bold.

In preview mode, or once published, the footnotes will be automatically numbered, and appear at the bottom of the page with a return link to the footnote marker.

Textboxes

Look for the Textboxes dropdown in the second row of tools in the formatting bar.

With your cursor placed within the text where you would like the box to appear, select the type of textbox from the menu.

Below are what each textbox will look like, the first listed is a Standard text box, and the second is shaded.

You can then replace the placeholder text with your own. Be cautious with adding pictures and pasting text from another program or website as it may cause formatting issues.

Add Hidden Answer

This function allows a answer or solution to be hidden on first view and is intended for student’s self study. The student then selects “Show Answer” to have the answer revealed.

Select “Add Hidden Answer,” which is the last icon on the first row of the formatting bar:

Once you select it, a dialogue will pop up asking for a few options. This is where you can check a box that inserts the practice text area, and add in the answer key that will be hidden from the students until they click the link:

In the editing screen you will see the code that the function produces:

Once you preview or update the page, you will see the final result:
