In sports, the final score isn’t the only thing that matters. We can also gather stats to measure the performance of individual players or teams. In football, for example, a running back might gain and lose yards throughout the game. If a running back gained [latex]8[/latex] yards, lost [latex]6[/latex] yards, gained [latex]3[/latex] yards, lost [latex]10[/latex] yards, gained [latex]25[/latex] yards, and then lost [latex]2[/latex] yards in a game, what were his total yards for the game?
