What you’ll learn to do: explain the purpose of organization
If you have a job now or you’ve had one in the past, you have some understanding of organizational structure—you know who your manager is, and you probably know who your manager reports to. You might also know who your company’s CEO is. But where did this organizational structure come from? There are reasons behind an organization’s structure. Understanding them at your current or next job will help you recognize how specialized your work will need to be, who you can talk to when you have questions, and what internal and external elements may impact your work.
