Instructions:
Step 1: Select one of the lesser-known founding figures who influenced the creation of the American government (no Presidents, and no really popular names players like Alexander Hamilton or Benjamin Franklin). Search for relevant online biographical information about the person, their life, and/or their contributions to the creation of the government. Find a minimum of five facts that are interesting, fun, or outrageous (but true) about the person you selected. What would interest people about this person? Make sure you are using a minimum of 3 credible sources.
Step 2: Find an open-source image, painting, or depiction of the person you chose by using Google (or another search engine). Using Google search, you can click “Images” and then under “Tools” select “Usage Rights.” Then select “Creative Commons licenses” to find images that are free to use or in the Public Domain. Don’t forget to include the image citation along with your submission.
Step 3: Compose a digital trading card of sorts with a photo and at least five unique facts about your person. Include a one-liner with the player’s stats, which in this case is their major contribution/s to the founding of America. Include correct APA citations either on your photo or in the textbox along with your submission.
Your finished card can be created as a PowerPoint slide (a sample template can be found here), in a Word document, or using a program of your choice, such as Easelly, Canva, or Piktochart. I
Step 4: Share your player’s card and stats with your classmates inside of the discussion forum (Although not required, we strongly recommend uploading and releasing your work with a Creative Commons license.)
