In this lesson, you will learn…

A variety of words and expressions such as:

  • verbos reflexivos
  • artículos de aseo personal
  • expresiones para ordenar el tiempo

You will also learn the following grammar tools:

  • the conjugation and uses of reflexive verbs
  • uses of querer and preferir
  • differences between por and para

These words, expressions and grammar tools enable you to do the following in Spanish:

  • to talk about actions that you do to yourself, including many activities that are a basic part of your everyday routine
  • to discuss more about your preferences, and things you want to do
  • to express more complex lists and narratives of events, with words such as luego, entonces, antes or después de that help you structure a sequence

As well, you will also learn about culture. In this lesson you will read about:

  • Cuba, and in particular about several women who work in the film industry
  • Wilfredo Lam, a prominent 20th century Cuban artist
