Unfortunately, we can’t always do what we would like to do twenty-four hours of every day! In addition to the many things we do for fun and for pleasure, we also have responsibilities and obligations. These may be simple things, like studying for a quiz, or large undertakings like applying for jobs or remodeling a house. Regardless of whether the task is minor or major, everyday there are things we have to do. In this lesson, you will learn several different ways to tell other people what you have to do today, tomorrow, or next year. While this may seem like a trivial part of a conversation, in reality, it is quite useful. If, for example, a friend invites you to go dancing, you might say “yes,” but then add that first you have to finish your lab report, so you’ll join him/her later. Or, if you are planning to go out of the country, it is important to be able to ask a travel agent what documents you need in order to travel.
Now, you can listen to two friends talk about some of their obligations for school.
