As you learned, present tense verbs are used to talk about actions that are habitual. You know how to conjugate verbs that end in –ar; now you will learn how to conjugate verbs that end in –er and –ir. For example, comer and partir .
In order to form the present tense, you must first remove the –er or –ir from the infinitive, and then add the following endings, which you see below.

As you can see, for the most part, the endings for –er and –ir verbs are the same, with the exceptions being the nosotros and vosotros forms.
